HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

Today is February and most couples in love celebrate valentine's day. Here are some of my favorite love quotes& verses...

Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being "in love" which any of us can convince ourselves we are.
Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Your mother and I had it, we had roots that grew towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossom had fallen from our branches we found that we were one tree and not two

"A kiss is a lovely trick, designed by nature, to stop words when speech becomes superfluous."--Ingrid Bergmen
. "I miss you even more than I could have believed; and I was prepared to miss you a good deal."--Vita Sackville-West
"The most wonderful of all things in life is the discovery of another human being with whom one's relationship has a growing depth, beauty and joy as the years increase. This inner progressiveness of love between two human beings is a most marvelous thing; it cannot be found by looking for it or by passionately wishing for it. It is a sort of divine accident, and the most wonderful of all things in life."--Sir Hugh Walpole
"Love distills desire upon the eyes, love brings bewitching grace into the heart."--Euripides
Friendship often ends in love; but love in friendship--never --Charles Caleb Colton
"True love begins when nothing is looked for in return."--Antoine De Saint-Exupery
"Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage."--Lao Tzu
"....A simple I love you means more than money...."--Frank Sinatra
"Love doesn't just sit there; it has to be made; like a bread; remade all the time, made anew."

MEDICINE BOARD EXAMS

"For every mountain there is a miracle."
Robert H. Schuller
It's the time of the year when medical graduates flood the university belt as early as 5 o'clock in the morning. It's horrifying that a doctor's license to practice rests on the board exams. Of course we need a tool to measure one's knowledge. But there's a big difference between academics and clinical setting.
All of you med graduates, HANG IN THERE and PRAY! Based on experience, here's a list of helpful review books:

ANATOMY: Snell, BRS, Recall, High-Yield, Case-Files
BIOCHEM: Digging Up the Bones, USMLE Roadmap
PHYSIO: BRS, USMLE ROADMAP
PATHO: First-Aid, BRS
PHARMA: HighYield (this was the only book i reviewed)
MICRO: MRS (this was the only book i reviewed)
SURGERY: Recall, Toronto Notes, First-Aid
OB-GYNE: Toronto Notes, Panlilio, BRS
PEDIA: Blueprints, Toronto Notes
IM: Blueprints, High-Yield, Toronto

There's no specific book that will make you pass. Find the 1 that will make your review easier to remember. READ IT OVER and OVER AGAIN. Don't forget to practice your testmanship. PRAY! If you fail, DON'T LOSE HOPE. Do better next time. Sometimes, or many times, it's just luck.
